Carlos Quintero

Carlos Quintero is our founder and Chief Catalyst. Carlos has over 24 years experience in sales, sales management, marketing management and consulting.

Prior to forming Sales Effectiveness Inc., Carlos held highly successful assignments with Procter & Gamble, ARAMARK, Learning International, and the Mercer Consulting Group, each with progressive levels of responsibility. He has worked with organizations across many industries, including high tech, hospitality, utilities, health care, agribusiness, construction, tele-communications, and financial services. A seasoned leader, Carlos has an enviable record of sales achievement, having exceeded all sales goals every year of his sales and sales management career.

Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Clemson University, and an MBA in Marketing from the Wharton School. He is the author of Building a World Class Selling Organization, a framework for sales excellence for business-to-business selling teams. He is active in local organizations, including the Georgia Oglethorpe Award, Georgia's highest-level recognition for performance excellence based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Carlos, his wife Carla, and their two children, Evan and Christopher, live in Roswell, GA.
 

Mike Wien

Mike Wien specializes in helping clients grow more consistently and profitably by applying nearly three decades of senior level marketing and sales expertise to their operations. Clients benefit from both time-tested instincts and the predictive power of a 50-point marketing diagnostic tool. Success is delivered in the form of stronger implementation and more predictable sales growth.

His career spans a wide variety of responsibilities. He began his career in product and brand management for Pepsico, followed by increasingly responsible assignments as Vice President of Sales for Omni Hotels and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Citibank of Illinois. Most recently, he was Director of National Marketing for Deloitte & Touche where he led the firm's marketing and sales initiatives for an eight year period.

Mike brings a highly pragmatic approach to sales and marketing, recognizing the critical requirement for sales and marketing to be aligned to an organization's strategic direction.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University and his MBA in Marketing from Northwestern. He and his wife Nannette and their two boys live in Marietta, GA.
 

Scott Harward

Scott HowardScott Harward has over 25 years of experience selling and directing sales organizations. Some of Scott's projects include:

  • Designing sales compensation programs
  • Creating sales process models
  • Developing Sales Meeting programs
  • Designing Sales, Business Development and Professional Services organization structures
  • Building startup sales teams
Before joining Sales Effectiveness Inc., Scott held a variety of executive sales positions at companies such as Control Data, Dun & Bradstreet, Brock International, Westcorp Software, and most recently Firstlogic. In addition to leading direct sales teams, he has managed partnering programs, international indirect selling channels and professional services groups.

Scott has worked with clients from a wide range of industries such as Gillette, AT&T, Harris Corporation, Disney, General Mills and NASA.

Scott is a graduate of Duke University with a degree in Management Sciences. He also earned his MBA from Stetson University.

Scott, his wife Ellen, and their three sons, Kevin, Michael, and Philip live in Marietta, GA.



Nancy Sutherland

Nancy Sutherland is one of our instructional designers and custom solutions experts. She has been designing and developing training programs for ten years, with primary emphasis on sales training. Training curriculums she has developed include:

  • Making effective customer calls
  • Enhancing customer service skills
  • Managing time and territories
  • Merchandising products
  • Blending multi-cultural sales forces
  • Developing software tools

Nancy has worked for clients such as UPS, Coca-Cola, ADP, Delta Airlines, and Orkin. She develops strong relationships with clients to understand their training deficiencies and needs. She is skilled in creating meaningful training that works!

Nancy holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from West Virginia University. She is working towards a Master's degree in Technical Communication at Southern Polytechnic State University in Atlanta, GA.

Nancy and her husband, Bob, have two children and live in Roswell, GA.

Teresa Maddox

Teresa Maddox is a passionate leader who works with clients to identify and implement win-win solutions that ultimately propel sales effectiveness and achieve greater customer satisfaction.

A graduate of Millsaps College, Teresa has over 15 years of sales and product marketing experience. She has served a variety of industries including financial services, telecommunications, automotive and retail. In addition, she has worked at the corporate level to develop and implement sales education curriculums, working cross-functionally to ensure strategic alignment and impact overall company results. Likewise her energetic and down-to-earth approach is carried over into the classroom where she takes great joy in seeing others recognize and develop their personal growth potential.

In her spare time Teresa enjoys cooking, civic and outdoor activities. She resides with her husband and their daughter in Marietta, GA.



Jan Josephson

Jan Josephson has over 20 years experience as an HR professional and is known for her innovative work in linking the vision and strategies of management to individual and team performance and to conditions in the work environment that support achievement of the vision. Jan has served as a designer, developer, and facilitator and project manager on initiatives with 2 year to 2-week development cycles.

Jan's experience is extensive. She has held positions as Manager, Field Sales & Customer Service Training for Motorola; Training Manager, North American Van Lines; and Manager, Performance & Productivity Management, Ryder System, Inc.

Jan holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Development from Palm Beach Atlantic College. Her Bachelors degree in English and Sociology is from the University of Wisconsin. Jan is a past Program Chair for ISPI. She also holds numerous certifications in the areas of process mapping, job analysis, project management, performance consulting and strategic planning for the training function.



Richard Schultz


Richard Schultz is a skilled trainer and master facilitator in a process known as Solutions Mapping!, or as he often refers to it, Storyboarding for Solutions. He has led over 200 training seminars and/or facilitated projects. The projects may be as short as a few hours, a few days, or extend over several months. He has conducted ideation, problem solving, strategic and long range planning sessions.

Dick holds a BA from Bethel College, and a Masters from the University of Pittsburgh.



Bill Tiffan


Bill Tiffan is a performance oriented business consultant specializing in leadership development and sales effectiveness. Bill works with key executives to help them maximize the productivity of their organizations and understand the key drivers of their own success. Bill blends consulting, training, executive coaching and facilitation services to help these leaders develop comprehensive solutions to business problems associated with human capital.

Prior to working with Sales Effectiveness, Inc., Bill spent 12 years with Drake Beam Morin (DBM), a global leader in career transition consulting and training. He held various senior sales management positions at DBM, consulted with dozens of Fortune 500 companies and helped start the Global Account Team. His experience includes projects in Mexico, France and the U.K.

Bill's professional background includes six years in senior management in a non-profit leadership development organization, eight years in general management and a brief period as an advertising account executive.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is married with three children and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. His interests include house renovation, barbershop quartet singing, fishing and vacationing on the coast of Maine.



Bob Chaet


Bob is a sales and career consulting executive with a proven record of significant contributions. He is widely recognized for effective skills in sales leadership, team building, career mentoring, employee development and group facilitation. Throughout his extensive sales and sales management career, he consistently exceeded sales goals, creating lasting business relationships.

Career highlights:
  • Delivers web based and classroom instruction on career transition programs and services and selection interviewing.
  • Provides career coaching to clients from a wide variety of industries and organizations.
  • Vice President, Sales and Marketing, and a member of the Senior Management Committee, for National Technological University.
  • Vice President, Area General Manager, Eastern U.S. for Eastman Kodak Company. Duties included driving relationship marketing among all Kodak business units, managing infrastructure costs, serving as area spokesperson for corporate activities and supporting Kodak's Olympic sponsorship.
  • Regional Sales Manager, Consumer Products, Eastman Kodak Company. Successfully led a $120 million sales team, exceeding sales targets for 11 consecutive years, by up to 20%.
  • Twice recognized as District Manager of the Year, and selected to the company's prestigious 110 Club for these achievements.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Tufts University, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Rochester.

Bob, his wife Joyce, and their son, Alexander, live in Alpharetta, Ga.


Rick Rogers


During his 35 year career with Eastman Kodak Company Rick was an accomplished technology sales and training professional with highly respected success in leading successful sales and effective educational initiatives. Rick has been consistently recognized for strong leadership methods that motivate cross-functional teams to deliver value and performance in support of their customers. Rick is a proven business-to-business relationship manager with a reputation for achieving customer loyalty with some of the US largest retail organizations. Rick's passion for training program facilitation has been influenced by his diverse training experience while at Kodak and his desire to strengthen the skill sets of all he has the pleasure of working with.

Rick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. He and his wife Pam, who live in Marietta GA, have three children. Rick cherishes the time he can spend with his family members. His love of photography has extended to collecting, restoring and using antique Kodak cameras.


Joe Corcoran

Joe Corcoran is a superior consultant and business developer, who leverages his twenty years of sales and sales management experience to develop key customer relationships. He has developed extensive sales consulting expertise in the financial industry. He is a frequent guest speaker at sales conventions and client sales meetings.

Joe's sales experience is extensive. Joe served as Director of Sales for Times Mirror's Learning International Division, a sales training organization. For three years in this capacity, Joe's Eastern Region experienced record sales growth while consistently leading the company in sales and profitability. He led his organization in the area of recruiting producers and retaining his sales performers by building a cohesive sales team.

Before accepting a management position, Joe was a Senior Account Manager in Chicago for eight years with Times Mirror opening and developing targeted Fortune 500 accounts. During his eight years there, he broke all records for total individual production.

Before Times Mirror Training Company, Joe worked with Corning Inc. Joe received Corning's President Award in 1983 within the Consumer Products Division's sales force for the top performer of two hundred and eighty plus sale representatives. Joe attended Hobart College in Geneva, NY, and played on two National Champion Division II and III lacrosse teams. He resides in Wellesley, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.



Susan Ciardiello


Susan Ciardiello is our Business Manager. Susan's strong organizational skills provide a solid foundation for our clients and partners. She coordinates the day-to-day activities for the Sales Effectiveness team and keeps the office running smoothly.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Boston University. Her previous experience includes working with several major insurance companies including The Travelers Insurance Company and Crum & Forster. She has furthered her education by studying and passing Casualty Actuarial exams.

Susan, her husband, Gary, and their four children live in Roswell, GA.
